So you found one second hand?
Very cool!
It does both 20/40w and 50/100w?
Shared EQ and no HRM trimmers?
Any idea what makes it a Bloomfield?

It was ordered by a customer who decided he wanted the CRS instead so they ordered him that one and kept this one to sell.

It’s 40 and 20 watts. Shared EQ on clean and drive channels. It has gain and presence trim pots inside. It’s named after Bloomfield Drive, a street by the Two Rock office.

I've had the 100/50 head, awesome amp. To me it sounds a bit more modern than other Two Rock models, e.g. compared to the TS1. Brighter, less compressed.

The NAMM video of the BD is really a great demo

What's the name referring to?
Mike Bloomfield ?
Is it a way to say this is a Twin platform?
An other Bloomfield?

I asked earlier, wondered if it was a tube drive pedal for D tone but it’s just a street near the Two Rock shop called Bloomfield Drive so they named a D style amp after it.
Does pique interest!
Personally I want a Steel String Singer and I don’t even play slide.

It is certainly no SSS but compared to the older TR's I found it less compressed, brighter/stiffer - so you could say a nod towards a SSS type of amp, and/or maybe a high powered Fender (Twin).

Interesting that you seem to suggest the SSS is somehow closer to a BFTR than the more common ODS is?
I had assumed the SSS was even further from Twin tone but never played one and of course the artists like Lindley and Vito etc influence what I think of as the nature of the tool, where it’s as much the operator of those amps.
I only have experience with my hobby builder ODS HRM.

Hey why doesn’t anybody make a pedal or amp that’s specifically Lindley tone?
Wouldn't it be great if a $100 pedal made a player sound like Dave?

Are you referring to a specific Fuchs model? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on that, if I may ask.
The ODS line is the most Dumbly of Dumble clones. 30, 50 and 100 watt models. I had a New Jersey built ODS 50. I can’t speak to the new ODS Classic models, but I’m sure they wouldn’t put their name on junk, so I’d expect the same sounds from the Classic.

Well, I have no first hand experience with a real Dumble either, so please factor this in. Also, there are different variants of the SSS, so it's not easy to compare. But from my experience with clones, judging recordings + from what I have picked up from the interwebz, I would definitely say an ODS amp is quite far away from a SSS. ODS obviously has the OD channel, but also the clean channel is quite compressed, with 'bounce', and can be pushed into distortion. The SSS is quite a Clean machine, stiff and almost Hi-Fi. They seem to compliment each other very well (that's what e.g. Mayer did/does). Twin somewhere in the middle? Definitely more tweakable into SSS realm than ODS in my book.

Yeah I read a bunch of them. I’ve tried the Studio 35 and my buddies sapphire 100. Ended up buying The Bloomfield Drive. It arrives Tuesday. View attachment 554031
Love how that thing looks, hope you're loving it.
If I can ask, how well was it packed and shipped, and were you worried?? Were the tubes in or out when it arrived?

I'm very close to deciding on an amp but haven't figured out if I should buy online / shipped, or wait to find one locally to avoid shipping.

Thanks.

Packed incredibly well. They have foam inserts that surround the amp and also hold the footswitch, cords, etc. yes tubes were in it when shipped. Bought from a shop in TX and shipped to NC. I would have loved to find one locally but it was impossible given the tiny number of Two Rock dealers and the 7-9 month wait for it to be built. Ended up finding this one NOS.
