Getting lost going to the stage. Reminds me of the joke....'what happens when a musician gets to heaven?'. 'St. Peter tells him to load in through the kitchen'. HA.

Well at least we have a bigger dressing room than the puppets.

I wouldn't worry (about Boston) its not much of a college town.

It's your wife. Your +@#*"$ing wife. There I said it.

Currently residing in the "where are they now" file.

Shhhhh. We're in the presence of the King!

Way too many hilarious takes from the movie. And it's funniest because it really is a spoof on real bands. I agree, mandatory viewing for any musician.

During the first interview on the film David and Nigel both have a herpes sore on the same spot on their lips. Obviously from the same groupie.

There was a lot of Led Zep influence, of course. When the manager brought out the baseball bat? That was totally based on Peter Grant.

And my favorite was Nigel's lengthy solo where he "bowed" his guitar with a violin.

Not a violin bow (like Page). A violin.

They all 3 play the bass on Big Bottom Girls. And Derek plays a double neck bass of all things! Later, after Nigel quits, David asks Derek who will they get to play his bass part on Big Bottom Girls.

That's exactly the stuff you can miss on many viewings and just shows how Brilliant the filmmaker is!!

Didn't know about the Yes/Black Sabbath heritage. I had heard about the Led Zep manager, and at one point (at the end of the film?) they talk about fish, and I wonder if they are carefully stepping in the right side of a fine line?

Their commentary on the DVD is just as good if you haven't had the pleasure, it's scripted but acted perfectly like the film.

Did you notice the part where he pauses to tune the violin?

Classic! As you can see in my signature I LOVE this movie. Favorite parts are when Nigel is talking about his guitars, and he says one has never been played. Then he says don't even look at it.

Also remember when that actor (Christopher Guest?) had a bit on ESPN with Bob Costas, where he wanted to have guitar riffs, like the organ music at baseball parks - stingers he called them. One was just chucking on the muted strings, the other was a pull off/hammer on combo.

Spinal Tarp?

Spinal Pap?

One of my 5 funniest movies of all time. And yes, I have the soundtrack album. A mate of mine thought that Stonehenge was the coolest thing he'd heard since Zep4....

The part when they are discussing the sexist album cover with the woman on hands and knees sniffing a glove and the manager says

"well you should have seen what they wanted to use, it wasn't a glove I can tell you that" :D

David St. Hubbins: We say, "Love your brother." We don't say it really, but...
Nigel Tufnel: We don't literally say it.
David St. Hubbins: No, we don't say it.
Nigel Tufnel: We don't really, literally mean it.
David St. Hubbins: No, we don't believe it either, but...
Nigel Tufnel: But we're not racists.
David St. Hubbins: But that message should be clear, anyway.
Nigel Tufnel: We're anything but racists.
