After 5 years of gigging with my Blues Jr. 3 ,I just removed my Celestion Sidewinder out of it, and put the original 50watt Fender Eminence speaker back into the Jr. No Contest ,The Blues Jr. 3 speaker is really cheap. this amp sounds better with any high quality 12" 8 ohm speaker. 3 different types of Sidewinders - S12 150W guitar 12" , keyboard 12" , bass 15" . I bought the Celestion Sidewinder in 1990 , it has been in many combos over the years. More sweet highs than a V30, not harsh treble. Bottom end undeniable.. Typical Celestion mid range. A full range Speaker that makes any combo amp sound modern. Playing in different cabs and combos for 35 years, Cant hurt it. My Favorite is a 90W Celestion Black Shadow.

I have an old Mustang II with a nice hefty Eminence speaker in it. People gripe over the sound of inexpensive amps and assume the problem is the AMP when it's usually the crappy speakers. Put a hundred dollar speaker in that two hundred dollar amp, it sounds fine.
