AC30 speaker wiring

Hi, i'm currently bringing a 1970s Vox Ac30 back to life and have attached a diagram of how the speakers were wired (Fig A) Does that look correct?

(Fig B) is how I was planning on wiring them?

I believe you want a 16 ohm load. Go Option B. Option A is not valid.

Diagram A shows a short circuit of the amplifier. If it was really wired that way I can see why it wasn't working!
