I think shoppers looking for holy grail awesome deals get misled by the fact that almost every Squier has fans that for them, the particular affordable guitar model is "a great guitar with a great neck", but those fans of those budget guitars are generally fans of budget guitars, and not calling Korean Squier necks great necks in comparison to how good the best Fender necks are.Necks are personal things, but even "great" Korean Squier necks are not worth $200.
So when @svntiprod says "I hear amazing things about the '80s Squier necks", first off it relates to cheap guitars that are good for the price, and second it may be further misleading if he is confusing '80s MIJ to '90s MIK.
Squier makes great guitars for the price, particularly if the buyer likes modding, and buys the cheaper Squiers that have the worst hardware and electroics.
Those shoppers will still call guitars amazing and great, despite feeling that half the guitar needs to be removed and thrown in the trash.
Or in comparison to the crap bridge, crap tuners and crap pickups & pots, "the neck is great!"
