The PRS Silver Sky is the best sounding, best playing "Strat" I've ever owned...

Clapton and santana sound blank, overused and sterile until you realize it’s because every player are stealing their licks. That’s when you realize just how great they were/are.
Ya, I dont doubt it. Santana specifically turned me off with the Metatron stuff. I'm sure I'll come around d to Clapton someday.

I dunno. Santana has a unique sound. I much prefer his earlier stuff as I find his later stuff to just be a caricature of his early stuff. Doesn't have the same mojo. Still, a few notes and "that's Carlos".

Clapton had a unique sound in the early days too. Distinctive. But post Ocean Blvd, I don't know that he even has a "sound". I don't usually know it's him until he sings unless it's one of his own tunes that I recognize.

Sure, plenty of people sound like him... but he just sounds like one of the old-school blues guys to me when he's playing Blues. (Which is the only thing I care about). I don't think those old-school guys are copying him. I invite differing opinions on samples of what "his sound" is at this point. I really don't know.

That’s Clapton’s sound in a nutshell to me

I'm a big fan of both ZZ Top and Jeff Beck. That song is horrible.

Yeah, it kind of works better in theory but falls flat in the final product. ZZ did another tune years ago with Beck that wae equally forgettable. For some reason, they don't seem to bring out the best in each other.

I even like that old tune. But they should have met in the middle of Beck's progressive Blues and ZZ top down and dirty mostly-low-E Blues. Instead they went way down dirty.

I’ve seen this pop up used for some time now. $800-$850CAD around these parts. Here’s one local of FB market place right now $800CAD. View attachment 621375

I’ve picked up and played a few at the big box retails. Sound good but at $1100CAD retail it felt really cheap. Cheesy plastic tuners and the slab off rosewood they used was thicker on one side or the nut was cut crooked. Also the G and B string moved all around when bending. A really large nut slot helps with quality? Either way it didn’t do it for me at full retail. View attachment 621377 View attachment 621376
it's not a real Fender. i see several signs that it's a copy of some sort.
