Same Shed Different Day
I'm listening to punk. Gotta get my groove back. The jazz is just...I dunno, um, able to change your head space around, I need to get back to more elementary head space.
I listen to some form of jazz or another pretty much every day for a bit.. specifically to get me out of my normal head space.

There is a lot of empty space in my head, the acoustics and reverb are amazing.

What a great musician.
Getting weirder. I had never heard him in a small ensemble. All the High school jazz band and the UT jazz orchestra I have gotten to see and enjoy and be impressed, but in the quartet all was revealed. Born to do this, it seems. The ability of those players to communicate and play off each other and in support of each other was wonderful to watch. The fact that they were so casual about it killed me. :D

Yeah, but not looking at them much, LOL.
More like he's checking for what tune it is
and the arrangement as opposed to playing
written parts, at least on the standards (like
I'll Be Seeing You).
For the originals, it might be a bit more than
that, though.
The horn player... first tenor, then flute, now alto...
and it looks like he might have a soprano sax up there too.
i'm digging the bass player, and he and Collin sound
really good together.
Collin commented after the show that the bass player was good. They both seemed to be able groove.

Made me happy that you got to watch it. I haven't been exposed much to Jazz but this is pretty cool. Good kid.
Reading through the thread I felt your sadness. I talk to my pops as much as he can stand it lol. I wish I had kids.

I didn't get to know my pops till later in life. Then I realized why I was hardwired the way I was. I've been much more accepting of myself since then, if that makes any sense.
Celebrate your son.
