Thanks! Just that I'd noticed in pictures that the original 50's strats had square edges but the Peavey pickguard is what I had and what I went with. Bonus that it's 8 hole and the edges were beveled just like the CV's. Thus the not quite 50's look. The trem cover was square edged and extra thick. I generally leave them off, though.White single ply, 8 screws, two tone sunburst, maple neck. 7,25"? 50s for me. Aged whould look even more convincing, you definitely went for the "New Old Stock" kind.

P.S. Why square edges? My CV '50s has got them angled too.
I'm okay with the CV 50's look. A vintage strat would have a heel adjusted truss rod too.Looks good.
A thinner more accurate replica is pretty inexpensive, if you so choose.
I assume the angled edges are due to the increased thickness- looks to be about twice the thickness of a vintage style single ply guard.
