Or in the artist's own words, "Fender hired me to give Squier a glow up!" (lol whatever that actually means):

From here... "much ado about nothing" if you ask me, but yeah.

I understand the lightness and clarity of the new logo but I don't really like it. For me personally Squier forever will have a special place in my heart, and this logo kind of puts it into the "this guitar could be named anything" category. AN entry level inexpensive guitar with little personality. Maybe it's just me. I'm a proponent of "don't fix what's not broken".

I like it. It’s cleaner, lighter, and helps differentiate the brand from Fender. But I’m an old copywriter with some pretty strong opinions about type. :D
Oh I get that the [slightly tweaked] new font improves legibility over the old one... but is font legibility really the problem with the Squier brand? And I think the Squier brand has always been easily differentiated from Fender.

To me, Squier needs brand management more than font manipulation. Maybe this is the first step in that direction?

After looks better EXCEPT the tail of the R is too thick, before was better there. The other letters' font tapers on the right. This should as well. Like the upstroke on the Q.

If the new logo/font wasn't next to the old one and I'd never seen it before, I'm not sure I'd know what it reads. The Q doesn't look like a Q. Sguier? Smuier?
