Forgive me if my attitude is unpatriotic, but IMO the best music ever recorded has come from the UK...not to say that the US hasn't produced some amazing stuff too. But when I look at my top 20 favorite musical acts, 13 of them are British....and Skynyrd is not even on my top 20 list. Not even sorry. Lol

I'm a tad too young to really remember the British Invasion. I quite like most of the bands that popped up. Then Progressive Rock happened. Best UK export ever.

Skynyrd lost any slight appeal for me long ago. Was never a fan. Razz.gif Freebird sucks. To me anyway.

Rock with a Southern flavor? The Allman Brothers were the best by a lot. imwo.

I'll admit it. I love Freebird. Couldn't listen to it for many years because of the original radio oversaturation, but now I'll crank it up if it comes on the radio. Killer song, beautiful guitar, killer piano on the live versions. Plus the chord progression at the end was one of the first things I learned on the guitar.

A band I was in during the late 70s covered Sweet Home and Freebird. Was fun then, but even they got old after a short time. I still like the Sweet Home quack tone.

I have to agree. My top 5 favorite bands of all time are from the UK - Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Renaissance. That's not to say I don't like any American artists - I do. But I have to say, the UK produced some incredible musical genius'.
