So what's on your workbench now.

So it’s finished. Have to set it up and intonate.

It’s a partscaster that I put together:

Mjt blonde ash body. 3 lbs 9 oz
Old Allparts neck in nitro. Fat neck. 10” radius.
Stayed with the 57/62 pups.
Vintage trem

Guitar weighs just under 7.4 lbs which is perfect for me. Used 62 spec as a starting point and cheated on some of the details: treble bleed; cap, 10” radius.

Cheers

House went up for sale so cutting some downed tree blocking garage door and back yard, swapping locksets to three that are keyed alike, and stumbled on a crate of antique ground glass stopper apothecary bottles my mother bright from Philly when we moved to Maine in ‘63. Surprised only two were broken being outside for years.

Working up a replacement control plate with beveled edges in 3-ply aged pearloid for my Rogue VB100-L, to match the other aged plastic bits I've done for it. No more sharp-edged, 90-degree, bright-white almost-pearloid bits.

Will do waterslides and then a lacquer topcoat to add the labels (properly "upside down" a la Hofner), as I don't have engraving or heat-stamping equipment.

Have plans to make a removeable strap-button mover for it, too for better balance hanging.

The day started with a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria that needed a new fuel pump and #7 coil pack.

I also just finished installing the stainless frets in the CA neck. I still need to do the intensive fretwork but they are at least in it now. PRAYING FOR YOU ON THAT ONE BELIEVER! Love those nippers BTW
Also took the time to install the tuners and nut.

Got the chance to use my new fret overhang flush cutters for the first time too! I like that tool for sure!
