NGD!! Tokai Springy Sound ST80

Snagged this beautiful all original 1980 Tokai Springy Sound ST80 for a nice price - $900. I didn’t necessarily NEED it but I simply couldn’t turn away an original ST80 in black for under a grand. Plays and sounds as you’d expect a Springy to; amazing!

Do you think $900 was too much to pay? I never see ST80’s under $1,000. Hell I can’t remember the last time I saw one under $1,500.

It’s a lawsuit guitar. Probably a reasonable price.

HNGD and congratulations on that score! I never see ST-80's for less than $1500 unless they are severely beat up. From what I'm seeing on Ebay and Reverb they rarely sell that low in Japan right now.

There simply will not be a 2019 MIJ AST 95 at a Guitar Center in the States for that price. Not to mention, most state's sales tax will put you over $900 for a new Player Series Strat. Then spend another hundred or more on upgrading the pickups and bridge, plus a couple hours leveling the frets, filing down sharp fret ends, and fixing the nut. Then if you decide to sell it in a few months or a year, you'll be lucky to get $550 out of it. Show me an original ST-80 with a straight neck and any frets left for less than $1k and I'll buy it from you.
