This started life as a Squier Tele; then the guy stripped it, finished it as you see, added Kluson heads, a S.D. Vintage ‘64 in the bridge and a DiMarzio Twang King in the neck….all gold hardware, and he also beveled the top back and side to shape it more like a Strat, so it fits the body more comfortably. I thought THE oddest, quirkiest thing I’ve seen in a long time, and couldn’t resist it!

I dont find the body reshaping quirky…lol aka did that to one of mine and it just plain became more comfortable (also scalloped it at the same time).
The refinish though doesnt work for me at all.

HNGD!

I like the lighter colors on it. Looks like a wash.

I bought a 2017 Modern Player Plus Tele that a guy had done this type of finish on. He did a good job, looked almost sandblasted. I kept it for a bit then I sold it and went and bought one that had original the finish.

Yeah, I hear you about the color; when I saw it, mixed with the gold hardware, it was so odd; it was like a car wreck—that you can’t look away from!
