Looking to buy this "Squire", is this fake? Thanks!

Looks like an Affinity to me. This case is worth almost as much as guitar. Is it a part of the deal? Two point tremolo is good news - more stable than vintage on cheap guitars, headstock seems fine. Looks taken care of, clean.

Not really funny when someone, especially a new member is trying to identify something.

Sure, but - the OP (whom I heartily welcome to the forum) - is studying this guitar very closely, to the point of noticing that the "q" in the logo seems off - yet he keeps writing "Squire". It's just kind of comical, and nothing wrong with pointing it out with some gentle ribbing.

I suspect this happens a lot due to autocorrect on certain devices, and people just fail to catch it. But I will admit that when I see someone write "Squire" over and over, I have to wonder why they don't just make the minimal effort to get it right. It's like writing "Fendre" repeatedly, as if that were the actual brand name.

It is a newer Squier Affinity Series. If you just go to the Fender website after searching Squier Affinity Series. They are currently selling for $249.99

I would not buy that guitar regardless. The 1st string is almost at the edge of the neck and is equally off from the pickups. String spacing seem erratic as well. Anything can be fixed, but better to get a guitar that works out of the box.

Good point and well said. My concern was new members aren’t used to the humour here and catching the subtlety of the post would be easily missed when reading each post and trying to figure out what’s what. 🙂

This is a much better design than the Affinity of a decade ago. Split shaft tuners, 2 point trem. I see why they raised the price when these changes came out. And that's a good looking case.

I do see that the neck needs a tweak, the high e gets closer to the edge as you go up the fretboard. That's an easy adjustment.

FWIW, I have a newer affinity Tele deluxe neck on my Tele build. Has the more modern split post tuners and a fuller neck. Not masses, but can definitely feel more wood I. You hand (ahem).
I really like it. Suitably impressed.

Yep, it really annoys me - like writing Gibsno repeatedly.

I agree. Why fake a cheap guitar? No money to be made there.
My original Japanese 57 Reissue JV Squier is worth £1500+ at the moment. And it's still the best Strat I ever owned. Probably owned 30 or so over the years and I have 12 others at the moment including Custom Shop, USA, Mexican and other Japanese models

I think the angle in pics can make things look wonky that ain't. My experience with the Affinity Strat is old, from at least a dozen years ago --the body was too thin, the nut too narrow for my liking. But I have read that they are much netter now.

I tend to follow my gut instinct. If you're questioning it this hard, something about it is giving you bad vibes. Affinities are abundant -- maybe wait around for the right one at the right price.
