A few weeks ago I watched the new documentary about Credence Clearwater Revival's first european tour, with a focus on their performance at the Royal Albert Hall. I never realized what a talented, tight, kick-ass, rockin' little band they were. Their studio recordings didn't do them justice. Fogerty back then was a leather-lunged, hyper-energized monster. I was just sitting around thinking, and it hit me, Forgerty's voice would have fit in perfectly with AC/DC. Nothing against Brian Johnson, he worked out well, but can't you see it, let Fogerty spread out a few Creedence songs during the night, and then cut him loose, screamin' AC/DC the rest of the night. He still could have done his solo stuff on the side. He'd left Creedence by the time Bon Scott passed, and wasn't doing much that I remember. In my opinion, it would have been a totally killer combination!

That would've been a good combination given what we know ACDC's sound to be. Given a chance to reboot that band I would've gone for a more dynamic vocalist. They've always lacked a little something for my personal tastes. But I understand why people do like them and I actually like a few of their songs.

I could see that.

BTW - I recently saw the Midnight Special episode where AC/DC played. Bon Scott was still alive. Holy cow. If I had seen that before I got my opinion of the band tainted by the hooligans and thugs who were their fans back in the day, I would have really liked them much sooner. I didn't start to appreciate them until well after Back In Black came out. Curse that fickle medium that was broadcast TV in the '70s. There would be nights when it was unwatchable because of the static and snowy picture. They never showed reruns so I didn't see that until Feb or early this month.
