Is this a genuine Warmoth body?

I can’t imagine someone would fake a warmoth body; they’re amazing and I had one but that routing looks strangely blocky, but mine was routed SSS

There are more than a few suspicious things about this body:
  1. No holes for mounting the neck - I've never seen a Warmoth body (even a blank) without those
  2. Square-ish shaped routes (as mentioned) are unusual for Warmoth (this could have been done by the owner)
  3. For a Warmoth neck pocket stamp, there's not enough space between the turtle and "Warmoth" lettering (check it out)
Although it *could* be a Warmoth body, my money is that if you could examine it, the Warmoth logo isn't stamped/burned into the wood (legit) and is instead just ink of sorts (like a waterslide decal) – which is the only way someone could fake a Warmoth logo. Actually, I've never seen a fake Warmoth anything in the wild myself, but I imagine someone might do so just to command a higher price.

Still, it may actually be a nice body - what are they asking for it?

No matter all that - if you want to be sure, maybe just contact Warmoth and see what they say.

Another red flag: there's a subtle difference in the turtle logo stamp used in [most] guitar neck pockets compared with the one used on the heel of necks. The one used in this neck pocket is what you would find on neck heels.

It's a partscaster. The whole guitar is $270 USD. I'm starting to think it is a fake now.

FWIW, the wood/grain does look nice. Is it a 1-piece, 2-piece? I don't see a seam. And what is the neck? I'd ask the seller his story on it, might be worth it even if it is fake..

Edit: Also, many of these 'Warmoth' bodies you have posted (like in the 'What wood is this?' thread from 2 years ago), they look like they are constructed in the same way, by the same builder. I feel like this is a similarity you should have picked up on, as you are the one posting the pics and asking the questions. This just strikes me as odd, given your inquiry in the current thread, especially if you haven't noticed these similarities by now..

It did look familiar. I think I'm in denial hoping it was real. I'm pretty sure it's a fake, so I'm not going to buy it.

There were some Warmoth necks going around a while back that I suspect were also fake.
