Remember Wacky Packages?
I was just digging through some stuff and found this lone survivor.

I have the first set of wacky packages somewhere around here. I think they’re from 1978? I’m gonna check. Lol

.

Haven't seen any wacky package stickers in years. Back in the day I had a whole line stuck to the wall of my bedroom.

Here's a fun Hot Wheels channel, this restoration shows the book of some values these cars have (around 4min in) ... Custom Shop level pricing.

Dad bought us Matchbox, then Hot Wheels. He ended up keeping them long after we moved on. He had a master plan for them. In his retirement he eventually did model railroad club and used them for his track-scapes.

Hot Wheel Blues - Festering Ear Willie

My baby left me
Took my Hot Wheels
My baby left me
Oh the sadness I feel
My baby left me
She took the orange track
My baby left me
She ain't never comin' back!

I got the Hot Wheel Blues....

While other colors were also produced, the pink one was the rarest of the bunch. It's now owned by collector Bruce Pascal who boasts the most expensive Hot Wheels car in the world and its value keeps going up. Currently, you can expect to pay $175k for one of these toys.

How about the old Volvo(?) Robin Williams drove in the World According to Garp?
Or the Valiant Judd Hirsch was driving in Independence Day?
Or the Green '62 Pontiac from My Cousin Vinny?
Or the Original Bluesmobile, The dark red Caddy that Jake traded to Murph and the Magictones for a microphone?
This IS fun, lol.
The only one of those they make is the Bluesmobile.

Name some more.
My friends on Facebook didn’t seem to care when I posted these there. Maybe the group here will have some appreciation for them.

I have a few survivors. Scanned some a ways back. There are more - somewhere.

I loved those things. We always called them Wacky Packs or Wacky Pack stickers. Now, who still has any old Mad Magazines. “What, me worry?”

Oh, Since we are being children:
A Crockwork Lemon and The Poop-Side-Down Adventure were in that one as well. It's refreshing to see grown adults behave like children sometimes!!
