Help identifying this Stratocaster body

First off sorry for the bad photos, they’re screen shots of a guitar for sale. They said they don’t think it’s a real 1963 strat body, but they don’t know a lot about guitars. It looks to have all the hallmarks, but they’re pretty easily forged I’d say. Is there anything I can check out to be sure? It’s been poorly refinished and it’s hard to check for things like dowel marks.

Difficult to say from those photos but if you’re in any doubt as to its authenticity then you’re better off just walking away.

This. Also, if they don’t know what it is, how do they know what to ask for?

Yeah I mean it was super cheap so I bought it. I don’t think it’s real, but someone definitely went out of their way to fake it which is so sad if it’s not real.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like plywood? Especially the arm contour. Maybe it just has odd grain.

I don't know why you say that someone went out of their way to fake a '63 though.
Going out of their way to fake it would mean inspection stamps and markings in the neck pocket, tremolo cavity, and pickup cavities.

Yeah, the worm rout was the first thing I looked for, and that one's not right.
