Just got this set of P90'S for my SG about a week ago. First mounted them with foam underneath but remembered Mr. Bauxendale's suggestion about hard mounting pickups improving the tone, so I thought I'd give it a try. P90'S make it easy due to the way they're mounted and especially so since this model SG uses a threaded plate in the recess with machine screws to fasten the pickups down. I really do think that the tone is clearer, cleaner with a bit more definition and twang without losing grit and fatness you expect from a P90. A bit of careful measuring and trial and error was required to get the shims just right so the pickups were the right distance from the strings but I'm definitely a convert. Don't think I'll go redoing all my humbucker guitars, but sure like the results on the SG! 20230318_135237.jpg

Do you play mostly clean? I wonder if hard mounting could cause feedback issues with gain/volume.
