Hello all. I currently own a Player series and would like to upgrade the pups. I got trigger happy and already bought a loaded 69 pickgaurd but haven’t opened. I’ve been getting mixed review with no real good vids on YouTube.

I play through a John frusciante / Hendrix inspired pedal board into a Jcm 800 or 68 plexi clone.

Mainly playing chili peppers Hendrix Isongs but I’ll throw in Clapton SRV sometimes. Based on this what would be the best pickup for me.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with the '69 pickups

I voted CS '69 they really appeal me for what I've heard, but at the same time they seems too weak... (not tested of my own) I'm in the same situation... looking for a set to replace my tex mex delta version in my self-build strat, too bright at my ears... to play rock-blues and classic rock, what's best?

YOUR geetar, YOUR ears.............................and good luck on being satisfied with a pickup set :p

My opinion is the two best FENDER Strat pups on the planet earth:

57/62 (for vintage, wonderful ol' school Strat chime, bell, quack)

Custom Shop '69's (in your case)
