Sam is a mixed bag of relaxed and wired, strikes like lightning but seldom draws blood
Ah...you mean he's a cat. As in "semi" domesticated.

Snuggle bug and killer hunter.

I have a saying about our furry feline friends:

Don't be fooled by how mellow our purring little pets are...inside they are all wild.

The wife and I have "owned" a number that we grew quite fond of, though "owned" is a questionable term when it appears that no one "owns" a cat. All of them would have made a meal of me if they knew how.
I'm pretty sure the only reason I'm still alive is the wife's two rescues couldn't figure out how to kill me (while asleep) without waking her. I'm convinced I awoke once to overhear one telling the other (insert your best version of a stereotypical, haunting accented voice here), "tonight the big one dies!!!". They scattered and ran off our bed when I sat up. Really....it happened.

A cat was reincarnated as Attila the Hun
That was what popped into my head!

Cats by nature like to maim their food then torment it awhile before dining.

Humans may play with their food when juvenile but are not by nature incluned to torment their dinner.

Never met Atilla but by reputation he does seem to have some of the cat like traits of enjoying a good tormenting the captors session.

As for Atilla eating his kills?
Cats often enough only want to play with their food then lose interest, or else expect US to dine on it!

We got our rescue on Saturday. Just slowly introducing her to Leo. So far so good. Her name is Pepper.

The last two pictures are Leo and are around 6 years old, when he was a kitten getting introduced to Buster. (RIP Buster) Lost him a few years ago.

Leo looks like he's fairly comfortable with the whole thing.

Yes Leo is doing great, Pepper was stalking him this morning, he just sort of ignores her, he's not all that interested. Business as usual. I'm glad he's so nice, you never know what to expect with cats.

He'll probably get annoyed when the kitten gets brave enough to start attacks. Expect some head-baps in the future. But sometimes the older cat will go back into play mode - for short periods - when a kitten comes into town.
