This looks like a 61-62 Duo Sonic, but didn’t think they came in Walnut finish. Anyone have any ideas of what this could be?
Yeah agreed. Do you think the body is truly early 60s?I don't think you can go by the walnut look. It has been poorly refinished.
Probably hard to say for sure, from the photos. It definitely LOOKS old though, in my opinion. Cool guitarYeah agreed. Do you think the body is truly early 60s?
I could argue that I was an even more knuckleheaded stoner. Had a v-necked 1956 musicmaster when I was 19 (1981). Burgundy mist, Silver anodised pickguard and it came with a certificate from the Rick Nielsen collection. Near mint and original case. Stripped the paint, threw away the pickguard, chopped a hole in it with a chisel and put an DiMarzio super Distortion in it. I should have been arrested…I had a pre-CBS Duo Sonic in high school. Very cool guitar but it was a light pink color. I half-ass sanded it and spray painted it brown. What a knucklehead stoner.

We were definitely together in our knuckleheadedness. I had a beautiful 1968 Les Paul goldtop in the mid-70s. I took out the P90s, routed holes and put in DiMarzios.
