I don't drink.
I have veterans in my family.
No idea what you are getting at.

I think it’s that you’ll get beaten up for saying bad things about the abstract entity that is a country that people were born in by accident of birth.

I kinda like The Boss. Like most recording artists, I really love some of his records and are kinda “meh” on the rest.

But there are many people, I understand, who are big fans. For those fans, $200 is not an astronomical price to see someone they really want to see live. Especially considering that Bruce has a solid rep for giving a crowd their nickel’s worth.

And then there are other people who never miss an opportunity to come off like a jerk, when there’s simply no cause.

Such animosity toward money can only be summed up by no other than the Natureboy.. kiss stealing’, wheelin’ dealin’, limousine ridin’, jet flyin’, son of a gun, and I’m havin’ a hard time holdin’ these alligators down!

Hasn't happened yet and I've played in many veterans' establishments.
I have spent a great deal of my life in the States, my brother lives in Detroit.
I have several US friends, have dated Americans in my youth.

You can spin it however you want.
Your distaste for “ Americans “ doesn’t go unnoticed.
I am an American and I can say for certain that Americans complain about Americans so much you would think we hated ourselves.
Florida man, Fed Ex UPS and the USPS, the evil folks in Washington, the evil folks on the West Coast, the Northeast, Down South, Texas, NYC, what things do we NOT hate about our own country?

American made guitars suck!
PRS sucks!
Guns suck!
I could continue with the list of Americanisms Americans love to hate but we all know how long it is...

wow that was pretty condescending... you may disagree with @stratman323 but he does speak the language with some level of skill.

for what it's worth, i agree with him. music, any art, isnt a luxury but a social necessity. and for a musician or an artist to assert that it's a luxury, does seem a little odd. i mean - all cultures produce art, but not all cultures put an exclusive price tag on it. I think a couple hundred for a ticket is beyond the pale, let alone several thousands. I cant (and dont anticipate ever being able to) afford a $200 seat at a show. It's not like there's an infinite amount of currency or power, so how we divide it up and how we distribute the power it allows one to wield is certainly a lot more complex than "if you cant afford it, too bad." participating in the culture of my society isnt a luxury.
I agree that art is an essential part of a healthy culture, that the culture needs to be connected to.
Not sure we really NEED to attend arena events to connect to the art of our culture but fair enough.
The flip side is that American culture seems to be myopic in supporting the arts that are most important or pivotal, or just legit and needing support.

So what has happened is that American artists have needed to leave America to find support in the EU.
Hendrix had to go to Europe to build a fan base and get off the Chitlin circuit.
Eric Dolphy had to leave the US to find more visionary art friendly audiences in Europe, then he died there, according to Mingus, of a broken heart, though medically it was diebetic exhaustion.

The US suppor of the arts is kind of dismal outside of the pop culture and Tik Tok (Chinese!) products.
Funny how also Americans so often frown on NEA funding as a waste of money on artists who should pull themselves/ ourselves up by the bootstraps.

It is visible that Americans tend to disdain cities and their citizens in really strong arts communities.
Almost like rather than supporting the arts, Americans as a mass, tend to disdain the arts, and complain when art gains value or the arts are valued, if not pop music and pop entertainment versions of art.

You seem a little unstable.
Have you taken your meds today?

I'm glad ol' Pony is taking on the entire USA today, yesterday it seemed to just be me he was furious with. I felt rather lonely. Today I have company! Which meds do you think he's on?

Just to be clear folks, this discussion is not supposed to be about Springsteen, he's incidental to this, it's the wider issue of inflated prices, "service charges" "transaction charges" & "dynamic pricing". You can love or hate Springsteen, it's irrelevant here.

I don't know who you are.
There are so many 'strat' names you all blend into one.

Only yesterday you said exactly the same thing. "I don't know who you are". So in less than 24 hours you've forgotten?

Wow, I thought my memory was bad...
Too many strat names to keep straight.
I tend to remember the names of members who post positive or interesting things.
