I swore that I would never get one, but I took a chance on a Debut 50. It’s Solid State.

Not my favorite amp (I have 2 Boogies and a Marshall) but running a tube amp for five minutes at a time to check out guitars isn’t good for the tubes.

Orange is still the king of SS amps, but the nearest competitor in the Orange line up was twice the price, and the distortion is way better.

But I have plenty of distortion boxes, and at $249.00 it’s really good for the money. Glad I took a chance.

I got my wife a little Debut 15E for her first amp. It is rally small and light.

Those Debut amps sound really good for sure. Byt as you said: Oranges are the kings of SS amps! They are very expensive though! Crush 60 is almost 600€. Luckily I got mine used for 370€ w 2 way footswitch and in great condition. Mine is constructed of birch ply

I really liked my HT 5. Kind of a bummer I needed to trade it in to get my HK GM 40, cab and footswitch

I just joined this club two days ago. Snatched an HT40 Mk.II for $250 and it sounds fantastic. Very Vox-y bright cleans and the OD sounds to me like Mesa and Marshall had a baby.

I have an ht 1r combo that is my most played amp, simple and sounds good a relatively low volume.
Plenty of tones to be had, I just play the amp, no pedals or whatever
Peace

I got a lightly used HT-5R at my favorite local store during the covid "lockdowns" (we weren't really told to stay home, but a lot of people did) for $200. It burped and farted and made a few other strange noises so I made an app't to have the tech go thru it. He suggested that since he was a month out, that I replace the tubes. So I pulled them out, ordered replacements, put the originals back in, and all the problems were gone. And cancelled the app't. The replacements are in the drawer. The clean and dirty channels both sound great for practice at home and would work great to mic it up at church.
