Bare maple neck

The new squire sonic mustangs neck seems to be completely unfinished. Is that bad for warping. They sure feel smooth and fast.

I'd be very surprised if they are literally unfinished, as opposed to having a thin matte finish. While an unfinished neck isn't necessarily the road to disaster, it's not the best for stability – especially in regions subject to wide fluctuations in temperature/humidity – and Warmoth expressly states it will not guarantee necks that are finished in oil alone.

Satin Urethane, I guess it just feels so smooth.

My HM came like that in '89. 34 years of playing and no issues. Just wish the front looked like the back.
