The IRS and custom service here is PRETTY smart when it comes to taxation, you can expect all sorts of corrupt schemes everywhere. I wouldn't doubt that as I've seen it myself.

sorry, I missed your reply. 1) I'm in Brazil! 2) A new one is selling for about 480$, it varies tho... so I'm not even thinking about buying a new one, I'm waiting for a good used one to pop up. So we have all kinds of weird prices when you put everything in perspective, like Danelectro guitars...

Prices are a bit higher here due to short supply and hype (there are not many around and they're expensive to import cuz taxes on top of taxes), so that black strat I posted previously is selling for 190$. And trust me it's the cheapest Squier available around right now. 😑
