In my little experience, Ceramics Humbuckers are better than Alnicos. They may be more economical as well. Actually, I had changed by Epiphone LP100 pickups for Slash-APH ALnico-2 Pros. Now I feel the ceramics were better.

Thanks Guitarmageddon, May be I am used to of the fender MIM strat's satin neck, the action was very high already, I had to adjust the truss-rod to straighten it a bit. Despite the high action I got the choked bends :)

I think its the two ECC83 tubes in pre-amp, I use to crank Gain quite often while my volume knob used to be at 1. If I get a pair of these, would it be okay?

no actually it was just first time and it broke from my MIM, just from the tuning peg. I broke an old E on my epiphone LP after 2 days, since the length of strat e string is more, the broken one worked on my LP, but just during tuning process, it broke from the steel ball (fag end).

I have only 10 gauge option, single or a pack of 5. I have not seen 9 gauge single string offer lately in India.

Okay, so no fear of neck warping due to uneven tension or nut slot getting bigger?
