The thing is, I don't even need a tuner to hear that the high e string is out of whack, even compared to the open string, and that's, like you saw, with the saddle all the way up.
okey dokey then. I live in Ecuador and i saw a Polytune at my local music store the other day. I didnt see the price though it's probably more that $100 here. do you know of any good clipon tuners?
I've got the truss rod set where the relief is the thickness of a piece of cardboard from a D'addario strings package. The intonation is a little bit better, but the high e string saddle is still all the way forward and the 12th fret note is still flat compared to the 12th fret harmonic.
Is...
Okay, I understand now. Does the distance between the top of the (seventh?) fret and the bottom of the string have to be exactly the thickness of the business card?
you're right about that, Chont. I am new at setups. That's the definitely the kind of thing I'd be likely to do haha. Fortunately, I didn't make that mistake this time, for once. As soon as I noticed that there was no difference after the adjustment, I made sure I was going the right way. :( I...
Thanks for the reply. A bit of clarification, if you don't mind. do you mean one one hundredth of an inch or one tenth of an inch? If the latter, then I think I'm fine in the truss rod dept. The reason I adjusted the truss rod is that I changed string gauges (9 to 10, I know it's not such a big...
Howdy,
Yesterday, I adjusted my Squier's truss rod and now the intonation on the high e string is off.
Also, when I adjusted the bridge saddle.... Nothing changed.:?::confused:
it's still noticeably flat compared to the 12th fret harmonic.
Can y'all help me out?
A few months ago, I bought a brand new Squier Vintage Modified HSS Stratocaster. It plays nice and sounds really good. The only thing is I've broken the high e string 3 times in 2 months! The first time it broke at the bridge saddle and the other 2 times it broke at the 8th fret when I bent that...
When I push the bar down and sometimes when I bend the b and high e strings, my guitar's neck makes a squeaking sound. When I put my ear up to the neck and push the whammy bar down, I can definitley hear it coming from the neck. It's also louder toward the headstock. It kind of worries me...
Thanks! I'll see if adjusting the truss rod fixes it. I have never had an electric guitar before this one, and I have never adjusted a truss rod before. Is it something I should get someone with more experience to do, or do you think I could do it myself? I do "know how" to adjust the truss...
