Hey!
Looking to buy a Big Apple Hardtail. EX or plus condition! Preferably in black (rosewood fretboard with tortoise shell pickguard).
Hit me up! Thanks.
Greetings to everyone!
So, I'm looking for the best quality and design "hard case backpack strap system" available...
Something like this that allows me to carry my hard case when "going places", namely using a bicycle...
Looking for quality and safety first!
Any recommendations?
Thanks...
Thanks everyone for posting!
Well... You shouldn't. I was looking more for opinions on what the "risks and damage" would be. You know... The "chemical reaction" side of it... As for the guitar, I kind of made my mind. Almost. It's my "#1" but it's also already heavily modded. It's a tool, not...
Hey guys! Thanks for your replies.
Yep. I understand but, I do think the sticker adds a lot of value to it. On a "persona/emotional" level. And it's already a "hot rodded/modded" workhorse. A keeper. I'm not selling it anyways. Ever. So... Now that I know what the "risks and costs" are, I...
So...
I'm thinking of plastering a couple of stickers on a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish body. A vinyl sticker, with "unknown glue type" on the body of my most prized, "#1" Telecaster.
I want to hear your thoughts on this. What kind of permanent effects will this have? Will it be...
Hi!
So , I'll be flying frequently in the next couple of years and I'm taking my "main Strat" with me. Bought a nice case for this. The Hiscox Pro-II case I think it's the best case I've ever owned...
Any flight (in cargo carriage) tips for it? Any additional measures I should take to protect...
Found some! Some really cool customized genuine Fender Stratocaster knobs in a choice of lettering and numbering colors.

Some really, really nice Stratocaster stuff on offer! Check it out.
I just placed an order for the volume knob! I...
Hi guys!
So, I'm looking to buy a CREAM volume knob for my guitar and would like to know which is the best quality one I can get. Material-wise and being as closely shaped to the genuine Fender ones, as possible. Weight, feel, lettering and everything else...
There isn't, to my knowledge, a...
Hi guys!
So, do you guys know which was (?) Fender's "Italian tortoise shell pickguard material supplier"?
I've read somewhere that Fender parted ways with their "Italian tortoise shell pickguard material supplier"... Some kind of conflict occurred.
Is this true? Did Fender source their...
Hi guys!
So, is there a GENUINE Fender 3-ply tortoise/parchment SSS pickguard available for purchase? NEW or NOS.
I guess Fender just offers a 4-ply version (099-2142-000). Is that right? The American Professional comes with 3-plies, so I would want a direct replacement with the same number...
Ok guys, thanks for your replies... I see. I must try sampling other options.
I want to try to match the PN 0991372000, Genuine Fender Stratocaster HH Pickguard, I already have on one of my guitars, as much as possible...
Having it supplied by Fender isn't going to happen so I'll try...
Hi!
Does anyone know where I can buy a blank sheet of "4-ply tortoise shell pickguard material (parchment insert layers)" that PERFECTLY matches the "Genuine Fender" one?
I have emailed several times Fender and the Fender Custom Shop to have this done for me but, it isn't going to happen no...
Hi guys!
So, which would be a very very nice, proper USA-made, S/S/S Stratocaster, for me to get? I'm guessing, I can aim at getting the model that's one or two steps above, overall quality-wise, from the American Standard Stratocaster.
So far, I've only had Korean and Mexican made ones...
Hi guys!
My MIM Strat has a "slight satin sinkage" in the joint of the "skunk stripe", where the two different woods connect. It's very minor and I can't even see it but... I can feel it!
It's no dent or scratch. It is a little "anti-reversed-bump". A depression, a "slight sinkage"...
Anyone...
Hey guys!
So, about humidity... I have a question. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing and being an extremely picky, attentive to details and a sickening perfectionist (Yeah, that's me!), but I would like to have some feedback about how to better protect my guitars against excessive (?!)...
Hey Skinny! You are the MAN!!! Thank you so much!! Exactly what I wanted. Partially but, hey I'm really happy! Major kudos to you.
You don't think I'll get lucky with the FSR, hein? Let me know if you find it.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!
Hey guys!
Thanks for your input and infos. I'll have to check the "paperwork" and "case candy" and check what I find in there. Not much of that kind of stuff from what I can remember...
Also, I couldn't find the same type of document for the guitars I'm looking for... That document I showed...
Hey guys!
So, "by accident" I came across some really nice "Fender documentation", I've never seen available anywhere before...
Check this out:

I would like very, very much to have a similar document for some of my guitars...
Oh! That's a major helpful post. I got this all wrong from the start... So, there isn't any red-er or brown-er, darker or lighter "Tortoise Shell". That's not what they are selling! What differs between the two pickguard material, "#5" and "#5P", WD Music is selling, is actually the color of the...
I think I'm going to get the same as yours but... It really doesn't look like Fender's. The grain, the pattern and the color. It doesn't. Grrrrrrrrr. Why doesn't Fender offer this? I even emailed and asked if the Fender Custom Shop would do it. It does not. At any price.
Well, It's hard to tell...
Is that a WD Music one or a genuine Fender one? Fender does have them for HH, you know? I have one. It's Fender P/N: 0991372000. See my previous post. Thanks for sharing. It's exactly that scheme I'm looking for but, with a maple neck.
Thanks again! Exactly what I'm looking for! Darker and brown-ish. I have a genuine Fender "Tortoise Shell" pickguard on one of my guitars. Contemporary. Fender P/N: 0991372000. Want the WD Music to be as close as possible to it. It definitely looks dark and brown. Not red-ish, lava-like, at all...
You think so? I find the "Mint Green" one to be a better match to the genuine Fender one I'm trying it to be as similar as possible.
http://intl.fender.com/en-PT/guitar-bass-parts/pickguards-backplates/4-ply-tortoise-shell-11-hole-mount-hss-stratocaster-pickguard/
The "Mint Green" is darker...
Well... that's what they call it! I find it kind of strange too... Here are both the options they offer:
What do you guys think? I have my own idea already, on what's the closest do Fender's "Tortoise Shell", but I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks, in advance!
LAMINATED TORTOISE SHELL...
Hi!
So, about the WD Music "Tortoise Shell" pickguards... To get the closest match to a genuine Fender "Tortoise Shell" pickguard (ex: Fender Model Number 0991337000), should I go for the #05 (Mint Green) or the #05P (Parchment) "Tortoise Shell" material?
Anyone has experience in ordering one...
