Help! Replacement Tremolo For 2002 MIM Standard Stratocaster

Hey all, The time has come to replace the entire bridge assembly on my 2002 Mexican Standard Stratocaster. The current Fender Standard Stratocaster Tremolos that can be purchased new say “fits 2006-present”. Does anyone know if these will work on a 2002 MIM Stratocaster, or can someone point...

Wanted Stratocaster neck ready to bolt and go…

Hello all! Like the title says… I need a decently priced Stratocaster neck that is already drilled to fit the standard hole placement on a Fender body. I would prefer a rosewood board but am open to maple boards as well. Heck, an all Rosewood or Wenge neck would be cool too! I don’t have the...

Fender CS neck relic process :(

T This is the neck on my early ‘83 Squier SQ. Trust me, this is real wear although it does look a bit odd. It is a very thin poly finish so the wear is different than nitro, but this much fingerboard/fretwear would surely constitute the finish worn off the back of the neck, right? Nope… the...

Should I buy a Squier SQ Stratocaster?

This is now a five year old thread, but I just came across it and figured that I would give an update… I ended up purchasing the SQ Stratocaster and five years later, I still love it! Even though it is now worth double what I paid for it, I couldn’t let it go. An an Eric Johnson maple board...

    New build fret buzz

Hey everyone, I just finished building a killer MJT/Allparts Stratocaster but I'm a bit disappointed. Frets 15-18 are sounding the same note on the D,G,B and high E strings. I'm guessing that I have at least one high fret. Is that what it sounds like to you guys? I don't normally get into...

    Stratocaster Warble Help

The setup is spot on perfect, the strings are fresh. I tried two different sets. It is the same issue. It is a bit annoying. The pickups are just about flush with the pickguard and the issue persists. It isn't the trem, the frets are level, etc. Everything is in working order. It must be the...

    Stratocaster Warble Help

Hello all, I just installed new pickups in my Gilmour Black Strat tonight and ever since I strung her back up, I have had this horrible warble on the low E and A strings above the 9th fret. I originally thought that I needed to lower the pickups... I lowered them incrementally until they were...

Should I buy a Squier SQ Stratocaster?

Hey all, The question is in the title... I have always heard that the Squier JV and SQ series Stratocasters are off the charts as far as build quality, playability and tone are concerned. I recently had to let all of my higher end guitars go due to financial reasons and I am on the prowl for...

Removing sharpie from a vintage Strat?

It's more like 9.5lbs but I wanted to get my point across that I like the heavier bodies and I wanted to see if anyone would react :)

Removing sharpie from a vintage Strat?

I love CBS Strats for the reasons why purists don't. I like heavy guitars, big headstocks, thick necks, etc. Younger generations of players, like myself (27 and under) find 70's Fender's and Gibson's to be of historical significance. I've had DOZENS of new cookie cutter American Strats, and to...

Removing sharpie from a vintage Strat?

Umm I'm afraid that I would be kicked off of the forum if I posted a photo of these words. It's nonsensical scribblings which talk about lies, death, and of course have to include the words P***y and D**k. :(

Removing sharpie from a vintage Strat?

Apparently it was love lost sometime in the 80's, written by some previous owner. It is pretty vulgar.

Removing sharpie from a vintage Strat?

Hey everyone, I found the perfect '79 Anniversary Strat, but.... There is a catch. Someone wrote obscenities all over the back in permanent marker. Is there a way to safely remove the marker without hurting the finish or having to refinish the entire body? Advice would be greatly appreciated...

    1975 Fender Stratocaster??

I thank you so much for your help! The neck and middle pickups do date to 1972 for sure. Routed 70's Fender bodies usually sell for almost $400 alone. Pickups too. I think it's worth a tad more than your estimate. ;)

    1975 Fender Stratocaster??

They are bent steel saddles and the block is separate. I just hope the body and neck are genuine 70's parts. I don't care what has been changed out other than that. I will try to post a better pic. I can only upload pics from my tablet and it keeps kicking me over to a facebook scam site.

    1975 Fender Stratocaster??

Do you think it is from the 1970's in general or a complete fake? I've had a '77 and a '79 Strat in the past and it does feel correct. I thought the bridge pickup looked like a MIM. I paid what I thought was fair considering that some parts are unknown. Well under $1000. It does play great and...

    1975 Fender Stratocaster??

Hey everyone, I'm hoping that someone here can help me out. I recently bought a Strat that was listed as a 1975 model. The neck stamp appears to be correct for a '75, but some parts have been changed including the headstock decal. The middle and neck pickup are dated 1972, but the bridge pickup...
