I have a Fender Mustang I amp that was given to me. The previous owner broke the on/off switch and wired the connections with tape.
I have purchased a replacement switch and I need a wiring diagram to correctly re-connect the switch.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!
I am hoping a picture is worth a 1,000 words. The block itself has room to move. As you can see it isn't off by much.
The second picture is with the new trem fitted. The fourth picture is where the old holes are at marked by the toothpicks.
With the new trem in place, the old...
Thanks for the advice! The new bridge mounting holes line up, but it won't allow me to use the pre existing holes unless I rout the bridge cavity. That is something I don't really want to do unless it's a last resort.
I can go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby and get dowels and either Super Glue or...
I've run into a problem with my neighbors Starcaster. It was made in China and in bad shape.
So far I have replaced the pick ups, output jack and neck plate.
The bridge/trem was all rust so I purchased a new Classic 60's trem/bridge. The bridge fits but the mounting holes (6) are...
Thanks to everyone for your help.
My new problem is the new bridge, a classic 60's that I want to install. Like the new pick guard, the new bridge falls short of the previous bridge holes (Chinese).
Any suggestions on the best way to fill the old holes so I can drill new ones. Should I use...
Here are the pictures as requested. I have a Stew Mac pre assembled pickguard that I may put in if anyone thinks it would do any good.
This would make a good project guitar but is it worth getting into?
Thanks to all.
My next door neighbor brought a guitar to me that he thought I could do something with. It's a Fender Starcaster, solid body, black with a 3-ply pickguard, maple neck and maple fretboard., 21 frets.
Looked for a serial number and couldn't find one.
On the back of the headstock is has stamped...
Thanks to all of you for stating your thoughts. I do by the way have all of the documentation stating the fact that all parts were purchased from Fender including the strings. Also the cost of everything.
In the end I call it a Fender Stratocaster. My other one I built is a MarvaCaster, S...
Well after playing Squiers and MIM's and several MIA's. I found that in my advanced age (70), I could have the one guitar that played smooth as silk, sounded like a million dollars and the color and finish I like.
I have no plans of ever selling but passing it on to my Son when I leave this...
Question, I assembled a Strat using all Fender parts. I must say it was cheaper than the Fender mod web site quoted. I installed the pick ups I wanted ( Tex Mex ), Fender locking tuners. The neck is Roasted Maple complete with serial number, Fender logo and the word Stratocaster.
So can this...
I bought mine in March 2021. MKII50. Since I play in my house no need for anything larger.
Very pleased with it and the factory support. Installed the firmware and software updates last week.
Between the Fender Mustang V2 and the Boss, no need for anything else.
Wondering, what is the general consensus about DIY kits? I built one from StewMac, S style, mahogany body and neck. I am happy with it. I added Fender PU's, Fender locking tuners.
I see other manufactures of kits and wondering how they rate with forum members.
Every since the Ventures hit National scene, Back in 1968 I wanted to make one. Between Army Career, 3 wives and work, never did it.
Having numerous surgeries, I always wondered if I could do it. Saw the Stew-Mac kit and went for it.
The Fender always appealed to me so I priced all the Fender...
Since being retired, I have done something I have wanted to do since High School, build my own guitar my way.
The brown one I built from a Stew-Mac kit, mahogany body, Fender pick ups, Fender locking tuners. Took about 2 months as I am disabled.
The Candy Apple Red is all Fender. Ordered all...
