  • Yes. Nice read. I started playing way back in the mid 70's. Never started getting serious, until early 80's. Played most of the 80's... then "grew away" (got bored?). Actually, life kind of got in the way. You know. Real job. Real money. Real Life. Wife. Kids. Yadda-yadda. All that became so much more important than playing - especially playing out. Didn't play more than a dozen notes, from the early 90's, until about 3-4 months ago.

Don't know why... just had to play. So, I pulled the LP out of mothballs, figured out that it needed a refret. It's off having that done now. Bought a new 60th Tele. I love it. Just bought a MIM Strat. I love it.

Learning new (old) tunes. Playing off & on with friends, filling in, guesting, etc. And, I plan on recording a few originals "one of these days". I'm trying to curb the urge, since I'm looking to add music into my life, not have it take my life over.

I don't think I'll play (out) much longer. I love it, but again... life gets in the way. I do, however, think that I'll continue to always play. In fact, when the wife goes to bed later, I'll pull out the Strat and finish learning Casey Jones. I missed so much music, it's fun catching up :)
Hi to you too. Thanks for the info about the SCXD. I'm kinda stoked that it'll cost so much less and be so versatile.
