  • Bonjour Mademoiselle Mansonienne (whoops, not allowed anymore)
Bladdy nice seeing a friendly face again after I've been awol for some time.
Hope your guitar skills are rapidly improving as always, and the Euroguestocks I've missed, all went well:)

You have a beautiful Stratocaster! I can't see the color but it is striking! A have never seen square block inlay markers on a Strat before. Did you do that or is it a custom shop special order

Hi there. I fear you may be referring to my avatar's Strat, which is truly beautiful. (although I happen to think my Candy Cola American Standard is gorgeous as well....lol). The photo in my avatar is of Shirley Manson, lead singer of the band Garbage. I did ask at one point if anyone knew what Strat this was (I'll try to dig up the reply. I'd never seen those inlays before, either.

This is what o6 oly white thinks it is: "I believe that may be called a big block stratocaster. Only a few were made in 05-06. Only 2 knobs, HSS, and block inlays with matching headstock."

Thanks very much Mansonienne. I currently have a 2007 VG Strat but I love my Tele Thin line too. Kind regards, Jerry
About a year early as I'll be moving to France in late 2017, and I might not have the guitar sent over until 2018. I'm making a scouting trip this November to decide among Lyon, Bordeaux or Hauts-de-Seine as a place to live. Any suggestions for reasonably affordable (two bedroom flat near Metro/RER for €1200/month or less) are in suburban Paris?
Regarding barre chords: try using a lighter touch. Works better for me.

Thanks, yes, trying to limit the pressure everywhere except where it's needed - not easy, but I'm gradually seeing improvement..

Please keep doing what you're doing!!!

    Aloha,

    Stevie/Stark
