  • Greetings. I'll take the Fostex if it's still available. I honestly prefer a dedicated device for some things.

Thanks in advance for offering this. I've given away lots of things on Squier-Talk and a couple of things on Strat-Talk and been the recipient of a free thing or two. It's what we do in cool places like this.

He sent me some free stuff, also. Back when I first joined the forum in, 2020. I literally had nothing but my guitar, amp, strap, & picks lol. He sent me some control knobs and an Epiphone tuner and maybe a few other things? Some pickups? I don't recall exactly but I was very grateful for it all 🙏
    Hey Buddy,
I just read your post about the "spool guitar rest" I have been a woodworker for about 40 years now and I know how an idea can lead to a very involved project. You're attention to detail says a bunch about you. (meant as a positive)
It's too bad you didn't have room enough to make it a lazy susan..haha... but that would have just been a cherry on top. Nice job, thank you for sharing.

Thank you! I really appreciate that. I have always enjoyed wood working but got out of it for a while. Once I started getting more serious about the guitar shop I started working on more projects too. That stand was a pretty major undertaking and taught me how to work with other materials too. It was the first time I ever used leather on anything myself (in the neck rests and on the cleats).
What Tung Oil do you use please?

When I use Tung Oil I normally use Formby's Tung Oil Finish.
I noticed that you put a like on the post showing the finish of my Telecamphor with a trem about the same time you asked me about this. That guitar, if you were wondering, was finished with C/A glue only. I sanded it to bare wood and rubbed it with 6 coats of C/A then sanded and polished it.

That's incredible. I am just trying to learn new things. I also am finally working on a piece of furniture that we have had for 15 years that had a ruined fish on it. I think it would be nice stained with some tung oil as well. It is a thin end table that used to have a lamp mounted on the end. Very cool piece, all wood and beautiful after i stripped the old varnish and stain.
